David B. Carter

David B. Carter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at Princeton University. His research focus is on international and internal conflict. Current work explores the implications of state sponsorship for terrorist groups, how domestic political institutions, democratic or authoritarian, influence the incentives of marginalized groups to employ violence, how targets of transnational terrorist and insurgent groups apply pressure on host states, as well as how violent groups strategically choose tactics in anticipation of government response.
