Denver Dialogues

Denver Dialogues was an online exchange among scholars and policymakers on violence and its alternatives in global politics. Hosted by faculty in the  Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy  at the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies, Denver Dialogues provided weekly discussion on Political Violence @ A Glance, with the aim of recasting outmoded understandings of conflict and violence and coming to terms with recent trends, how they interact, and what they suggest for policy.

Denver Dialogues was supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and was part of a larger program at the Sié Center focused on changing trends in conflict and violence, with a particular focus on non-state actors and the impact of non-violent actions on the course of conflict. Built on the assumption that scholarship is critical to informing policy and vice versa, each aspect of the Sié Center project—including the Denver Dialogues posts published on PV@G—aimed to improve the transfer of research and expertise among academia and governmental and non-governmental policy actors.
